Airtight holders have been used by the
coin industry for years, and they lend themselves well to our hobby as well.
There is little doubt among collectors that airtight holders are the best
way to store your most precious chips, strikes, and tokens.
The problem is that many collectors get
confused when it comes to figuring out what size to order. My goal here is
to explain how to determine what size holder goes with the item you wish to
protect.
Let’s begin with a list of actual sizes of
casino money. The Nevada Gaming Commission regulates these sizes. I will be
dealing with millimeters here but if you wish to convert to inches simply
divide by 25.4.

Baccarat Chips - 42 mm (Exception: The Palms Baccarat Chips are 44 mm)

If you wish to store any other casino
related monetary item, you will have to use a holder along with an
additional foam ring to reduce the inside diameter of the standard holder to
the size of your item. These foam rings are available in black or white, and
are made of an inert material that will not harm the coin or chip.
